3 Books to Read This Summer

Looking for a new book? It’s no secret that I love patio sitting, wine sipping and a good book (I couldn’t think of another rhyme there 🙄). Here are 3 books I’m LOVING this summer, and of course, they’ve all been paired with a glass of wine to match. 😉

Little Fires Everywhere

This book is totally different from what I usually like to read, but it’s definitely a keeper. This book follows a little girl and her mom as they move into a new town, where secrets are kept close, but there are many to keep. It’s full of twists and turns you don’t expect, as families intertwine and the nosiness of people gets the best of them.

Wine of Choice: Meiomi Pinot Noir. It’s rich and full bodied taste will make you feel like you're apart of the book.

Big Little Lies

This is all about the drama. It follows drama-filled kindergarten moms as they navigate the drama of their neighborhood. Someone has committed a crime and the consistent flashbacks paint a picture through out the book to help point you to who did it. The characters throughout the book are full of quirks and personality, constantly making you feel like you know someone who acts JUST like them. P.S. After you finish this book, you'll need to turn on the TV and check out the series on HBO.

Wine of Choice: Chandon Champagne Brut. Something about champagne makes me feel like I’m high class and up scale. A good friend of mine recently called drinking champagne “getting fancy drunk,” thus making this pairing a perfect match.

The Leavers

Currently on my front porch is this book, but not for long… I’m speeding through it! This book is about a young boy who finds that his mother has come up missing. When the undocumented Chinese immigrant never returns from her job at the nail salon, her son is adopted out, renamed and forced to understand his new life.

Wine of Choice: Robert Mondavi Chardonnay Spritzer. It’s hot outside, and nothing beats a Wine Spritzer like this. If you’ve never made one before, it’s basically Chardonnay with club soda and ice. It’s light, refreshing and perfect for the hot weather.
